Dr Angie graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2016 and has spent her postgraduate years working in both public and private hospitals. Her strengths include complex surgical cancer patient management, most notably urological cancers. She has an interest in using complementary medicines to provide relief with chronic and palliative pain, and is currently learning more about their use in patients with anxiety and other mental heath disorders.

Beyond providing medical treatment plans, Dr Angie enjoys educating patients, taking time to explain what options there are for management and focusing on shared decision making. She looks forward to building lasting relationships with her patients to ensure continuity of care to provide the best possible outcome for complex medical conditions.

Outside of work Angie enjoys sports, recently taking up golf as well as travel and food. She always has a “next trip” planned and loves to research and explore the world and new cultures, with a special focus on food.

Dr. Greg’s main specialty of interest is occupational medicine – caring for those who have sustained physical and psychological injuries in the workplace. Along that journey, he encountered natural therapies and saw its potential as an alternative treatment where conventional therapeutics had failed for managing chronic conditions. Recognising the broad therapeutic potential of natural alternative therapies, he joined Astrid clinic to further hone his scope of practice by applying it to a wider range of conditions.

He most enjoys the individualised aspects and patient-centredness of this area of medicine. And he keenly works with his patients in a shared-decision making process to create their treatment plan.

MBBS, MPH, FASLM fellowship candidate

Dr Shu Ng (affectionately known as Dr Shu) graduated from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia in 2010 and has over 10 years of postgraduate medical experience in medical and surgical specialties. She undertook an 18-month Radiation Oncology research fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, USA, whilst completing her Master of Public Health (MPH) with University of Sydney. After her return to Melbourne, she spent three years in Radiation Oncology specialty training at Alfred Health and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, managing patients with cancers of the breast, prostate, bowel, pancreas, lung, brain, etc.

Dr Shu approaches her patients with kindness, compassion and holistic care. She is very passionate about helping patients undergoing cancer treatment or experiencing cancer-related symptoms, as well as managing symptoms in palliative care. She also has broad interests within natural therapies including managing chronic pain, mental health, women’s health, neurodegenerative and seizure disorders and autism spectrum disorders.

As one of the early adopters, Dr Shu has practised with natural therapies for years. She is an Authorised Prescriber and by 2023 has managed over 2000 patients and their journey with medicine. Dr Shu is a member of the Society of Clinicians (SSC), and Australian Chapter (SSCAC), and Australian & New Zealand College of Practitioners (ANZCCP). She is also completing her multidisciplinary Fellowship with the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine (ASLM). Dr Shu has been a keynote speaker at various events and podcasts.

MBBS

Dr Yang graduated from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia and has spent several years working in the hospital system with experience in various roles including Psychiatry, Emergency Medicine, Paediatrics, and Men’s Health. He has recently spent a year helping in the COVID response working in Emergency departments, COVID wards, and respiratory clinics.

Having seen first-hand the impact of chronic illnesses on people’s lives and the limits of traditional medicine, Dr Yang then discovered the benefits of plants to treat refractory symptoms and view it as a solution to the greatest challenges in healthcare. He is now a member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Practitioners and is an Authorised Prescriber.

Dr Yang believes in a holistic and patient-centred approach, giving patients more autonomy and self-empowerment to be actively involved in their treatment. Dr Yang utilizes the versatility in composition of plants and different delivery methods to formulate individualized treatments for his patients. He is interested in all fields of natural therapies, particularly chronic pain and mental health.

Outside of medicine Dr Yang enjoys spending time both being in nature with his golden retrievers Charlie and Archie, and also on the couch with his two cats Mocha and Mila.

BMed, BSci

Dr. Yasmin is an emerging holistic medicine doctor with a diverse background in palliative care, rehabilitation, emergency, and internal medicine, and a compassionate approach to patient care. Her training includes Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) accreditation in paediatrics, as well as a term with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS), providing healthcare to rural and remote communities.

Dr. Yasmin is a TGA authorised prescriber of natural therapies, endorsed by the Australian and New Zealand College of Practitioners (ANZCCP). Currently, Dr. Yasmin is pursuing fellowship with the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine (FASLM) as well as a Certificate in Psychedelic Assisted Therapy (CPAT) through Mind Medicine Australia, which will open new opportunities for patients in the future who would like to access psychedelic therapies for mental health treatment as they expand in Australia.

Dr. Yasmin has a special interest in assisting patients to address complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD), depression, anxiety, and other mood and mental health disorders, and is particularly passionate about integrating traditional and complementary healing modalities into her practice.

Beyond her medical work, Dr. Yasmin is a talented author, having written the award-winning children’s book “Because You Are Here”; This heart-warming story has been recognised with the prestigious Nautilus award for Best Illustrated Fiction and Best Children’s Book in 2022. Dr. Yasmin’s creative endeavours outside of medicine demonstrate her commitment to fostering well-being and positive experiences for individuals of all ages.

Georgina is a clinical Naturopath who holds a Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy). She grew up in Melbourne, and now resides on the South Coast of New South Wales. Georgina has experience working in compounding pharmacies, as well as consulting roles in clinical practice. She is very passionate about educating patients on the gentle practice of Naturopathy, and the many benefits of natural therapies. She also loves being able to collaborate with practitioners of other modalities to give patients positive outcomes and reach their health goals.

Georgina is particularly interested in assisting patients with their reproductive and mental health concerns, as well as supporting patients with chronic pain, and offering education on general wellbeing and nutrition. 

In her down time, she enjoys spending time at the farmers market and the beach, as well as travelling with her partner.
